The Presidential Competitive Scholarship is Kansas State University’s most strict and selective scholarship at the institution. Because of this many students apply and do not receive the award attached. Because this scholarship has an estimated value of $80,000 USD to award, this is to cover a full tuition college career for any one student.

Eligibility
- Applicants who want to apply to this scholarship must show tremendous leadership skills and excellent academic grades. This must have been shown throughout their high school years.
- The age requirement for this is for students from 16-18 years of age.
- ACT and SAT scores will be evaluated and judged to see if they are above the normal range.
- Must be a senior in high school. Cannot have been held back a year in high school.
- Applicants must be admitted to the university before applying for this scholarship.
- High school grade point average has to either be at 3.85 or above on a 4.0 grading scale.
- All individuals who want to apply must understand that they have to attend an on-campus interview and recognition event that happens in the beginning of February for individuals whose application has successfully go through the screening process.
Requirements
All students who want to apply for this competitive scholarship, they must first become enrolled or apply for admission and receive notification that they have been accepted to Kansas State University.
Academic high school grades and SAT and the ACT exam scores are highly important factors too.
How to Apply
First off, the first step to complete is for students to fill out the form titled the K-State admission application and submit it.
The Presidential Scholarship application is the second step because this is a separate form that needs to be filled out correctly and completely.
After sending everything in students will be notified of where their application stands in Mid-January of the following 2023 year.

Wit this scholarship having an award estimate value of $80,000, this means this amount will be split into sections. The first freshmen year the student will have that $20,000 applied to their tuition total year amount. This pretty much covers the entire year tuition.
For this scholarship to be renewed each year to end up receiving the total $80,000 USD, students must have a 3.5 grade point average or above their entire 4-year college career.
This is one of the biggest scholarships that offers an incredibly large sum of USD. Because of this the eligibility requirements are more strict as well as the maintaining the scholarship guidelines and rules that are mentioned on the original scholarship and university website.
Deadline Time Line
The official deadline time line is December 1, 2022 for the 2023 school year. Since there is no option to extend this deadline time frame, students that experience issues will need to contact the financial or admissions office to discuss optional solutions.
Open Submission Window Time Frame
The open submission window is currently open until December 1, 2022. That is the official deadline date where students cannot ask for a deadline extension. All applicants must work with the deadline date that is stated.
Annual or Renewable Scholarship Options
This is an annual scholarship that lasts for 4 years, so yes this is a renewable scholarship. Also, students that are awarded this competitive scholarship will be able to work with the Assistant Dean for Prestigious Scholarships to end up applying for even more scholarship such as the Truman Scholarship.
