International students can apply for the Shandong University Scholarship 2022-2023, which is completely financed. For Bachelor and Master students, this scholarship covers the tuition fee for the duration of their studies as well as a monthly stipend of 700 RMB. The price is 1,000 RMB per month for Ph.D. students.

The Shandong University Scholarship for International Students (hence referred to as SDU Scholarship) was established to provide financial assistance to excellent incoming international students. A number of outstanding undergraduates, masters, and doctorate students are chosen as winners each year.

About the Scholarship:

Shandong University is China’s oldest and most prestigious university. Shandong Institution was established in 1901, and it was the country’s second national university after Jingshi University (the Metropolitan University). The university was recently designated as a?national key comprehensive university? by the Ministry of Education. The Ministry of Education named it one of the 21 national important construction first-class institutions in 2001. Shandong University is located in Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province, and occupies an area of 3.849 square kilometers. The province is situated on China’s east coast and along the Yellow River’s lower reaches. It is not just one of China’s most economically successful coastal provinces, but also a vital contributor to ancient Chinese culture.
Shandong University has 31 schools and colleges, as well as a graduate school. Philosophy, economics, law, literature, history, natural sciences, engineering, management, medicine, education, and the military are among the 11 academic fields provided. There are 104 undergraduate programs, 209 master’s programs, 127 doctoral programs, and 15 post-doctoral mobile stations available. There are also seven professional master’s degree programs in law, business administration, engineering, clinical medicine, public health, dentistry, and public administration. The Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering each have 29 academicians (including adjunct academicians). The institution is linked with three general hospitals, including Qilu Hospital, as well as 12 teaching hospitals. There are around 175 well-equipped experimental labs, teaching and research facilities. A total of 5,600,000 volumes are housed in the university library. Shandong University is a global higher education institution. The university continues to collaborate and exchange ideas with over 100 educational and research institutes throughout the world. For overseas students, the institution becomes an important educational basis. Shandong University has welcomed over 10,000 students from over 60 countries since 1980.
Shandong University is divided into eight campuses (Jinan Central Campus, Hongjialou Campus, Baotuquan Campus, Qianfoshan Campus, Software Park Campus, Xinglongshan Campus, Qingdao Campus, and Weihai Campus) spread throughout three cities (Jinan, Qingdao, and Weihai) (including 200 hectares of the Qingdao campus).

There are currently 4 associated hospitals, 3 non-subordinate affiliated hospitals, and 11 teaching hospitals linked with the institution. It also has a 7,782-strong teaching and administrative staff (not including affiliated hospitals). It has a full-time student population of 60,000, including 41,103 full-time undergraduates, 16,607 full-time postgraduates, and approximately 3000 full-time international students.

Campus activities are intended to give a forum for students to discuss ideas, enhance their knowledge, develop diverse abilities, and showcase their talent. Campus activities have not only increased student morale and brightened their lives, but they have also provided students with opportunity to study new things outside of their regular academic courses.

Campus activities can be split into three categories in general. “Youth in the Prime -Outstanding Chinese Youth Forum,” “Great Masters Forum,” and “the Little Grove Culture Forum” are examples of the first type of forums and lectures on ideology. Other types of academic lectures and competitions, such as those covering natural sciences, social sciences, or the humanities, make up the second sort of campus activity.

Eligibility for Scholarship

Applicants must have a high academic record and the ability to conduct scientific research.
1. Applicants for Bachelor programs must have a high school diploma or an equivalent certification and be under the age of 25.
2. A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification and a minimum age of 35 for Master’s programs, or a Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification and a minimum age of 40 for Ph.D. programs.

3. Have a high academic record as well as great scientific research abilities.
4. During the time that the applicant is receiving the SDU Scholarship, he or she cannot be given any other scholarship financed by the Chinese government.

5. Applicants must provide the following English/Chinese language competence testing results:
IELTS – 6.0
TOEFL IBT – 80
210 points or above in the HSK 4 test when applying for Bachelor programs
180 points or above in the HSK 5 test when applying for Master programs
180 points or above in the HSK 6 test when applying for Ph.D. programs

The Shandong University Scholarship Application Form for International Students must be completed electronically in Chinese or English. The applicant should sign the application form, scan it, and then upload it to the system. Postal applications will not be considered.
