The International Program for South African Students in Washington (IPSAW) is a program that selects 20 outstanding students from various universities in South Africa every year to participate in a six-week internship and leadership development program in Washington, DC.

• You must be a South African citizen or permanent resident.

• You must be enrolled or intend to enroll at one of the partner universities in South Africa: the University of Cape Town, the University of Johannesburg, the University of Pretoria, the University of Stellenbosch, or the University of the Western Cape.

• You must be in your second year or beyond of university.

• You must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.

• You must have a community engagement and leadership record, with a strong service ethic.

• You must be available to participate in the international component of the program from mid-June to late July.

• You must be between the ages of 19 and 25.
