- Financing travel and accommodation expenses to participate in conferences.
- Financing of excursions.
- The organization of small workshops.

- You are enrolled at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences for the winter semester of 2022 and will still be within your regular period of study during this funding period.
- Have demonstrated outstanding ability in their studies to date or in professional life.
- Do not receive any other aptitude- or performance-related material funding of an average monthly value of €30 or more from funding institutions for academically gifted students, the German Academic Exchange Service, or foreign institutions

Gifted students must apply within the application period of September 24 to October 11 and in the required form, both online and paper with all the necessary documents by mail.

Upon completion of studies, the successful scholarship candidate is required to work at Transnet for the same period as their scholarship. The scholarship will only be renewed if the student maintains satisfactory academic performance.
Applicants must meet the following minimum income criteria before applying (please note that if each of the requirements is not met, your application will not be considered):
- South African citizen
- Matrix completed
- Achieved a minimum 5 symbols for Mathematics and Physical Sciences in Matric
- Study full time in one of the Engineering degrees mentioned above.

CANDIDATE SELECTION PROCESS
Applications will be screened by the Transnet Scholarship Department.
Candidates who meet the academic performance criteria will be shortlisted and invited for an interview.
Interviews will take place in Cape Town, Durban, Bloemfontein, and Johannesburg.
Candidates will then be selected based on the result of the interview, their academic results, and medical aptitude.
