Potsdam University of Applied Sciences is inviting applications for three scholarships for a master’s degree in Childhood Studies and Children’s Rights. These University of Applied Sciences MA Scholarships are available for international students.

Basically, the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences opens applications for 3 (three) scholarships under the National Program “Deutschland-Stipendium” for the funding period from October to March.

Particularly outstanding and highly motivated students of the Master of Childhood Studies and Children’s Rights with excellent academic performance can be supported with a monthly grant of €300 for three semesters, regardless of personal income.

In addition, the donor has generously awarded another €5,000 to the three “Deutschland-Stipendium” fellows to use for activities related to the Master of Childhood Studies and Children’s Rights from which all students will benefit.

ACTIVITIES  could be for example:

  • The organization of small events (symposiums; one-day seminars) on specific topics.
  • Financing travel and accommodation expenses to participate in conferences.
  • Financing of excursions.

You can apply for a “Deutschland-Stipendium” at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences if

  • You are enrolled at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences for the winter semester of 2022 and will still be within your regular period of study during this funding period.
  • Have demonstrated outstanding ability in their studies to date or in professional life.
  • Do not receive any other aptitude- or performance-related material funding of an average monthly value of €30 or more from funding institutions for academically gifted students, the German Academic Exchange Service, or foreign institutions

How to apply for scholarships

Gifted students must apply within the application period of September 24 to October 11 and in the required form, both online and paper with all the necessary documents by mail.

Students may have to do holiday work at Transnet during the June or December holidays.

Upon completion of studies, the successful scholarship candidate is required to work at Transnet for the same period as their scholarship. The scholarship will only be renewed if the student maintains satisfactory academic performance.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following minimum income criteria before applying (please note that if each of the requirements is not met, your application will not be considered):

  • South African citizen
  • Matrix completed
  • Achieved a minimum 5 symbols for Mathematics and Physical Sciences in Matric
  • Study full time in one of the Engineering degrees mentioned above.

CANDIDATE SELECTION PROCESS

Applications will be screened by the Transnet Scholarship Department.

Candidates who meet the academic performance criteria will be shortlisted and invited for an interview.

Interviews will take place in Cape Town, Durban, Bloemfontein, and Johannesburg.
Candidates will then be selected based on the result of the interview, their academic results, and medical aptitude.
