Today, Udacity and Google are pleased to announce a new scholarship program that will bring world-class learning opportunities to 50,000 people across the United States. Africa and India.
The Audacity Google Scholarship 2022 program is part of the Grow with Google initiative that Google CEO Sundar Pichai introduced at a press event.

We’re past the era where technical skills are only applied “in tech.” In today’s world, skills like web and mobile development are relevant to all industries, not just Silicon Valley.
In fact, almost 90% of US software developers live outside Silicon Valley, and there are a number of open software development jobs – more than 220 across the country in 2016.
The average salary for one of those jobs is $104K, and you don’t need a computer science degree to get hired. What you do needs, are skills, experience, and guidance, all of which you will get through this scholarship challenge.
What you need to know about Google Udacity Scholarship

The Google Audacity, Grow With Google program aims to help Americans with the skills they need to prepare for and find a job, and this new scholarship initiative will give each recipient the opportunity to learn new skills, start or advance their career, and unlock its potential. In the last year alone, Udacity and Google have combined to offer 130K scholarships to people from all over the world.
There are two phases to this new scholarship program:
Phase 1: 50,000 Challenge Scholarships
The first phase of this Audacity Google Scholarship provides three months of access to one of four Udacity courses: Introduction to HTML + CSS, Offline Web Apps, Android Basics, and Android App Development.
Audacity Google Scholarship recipients in these courses will receive a robust community experience supported by dedicated Udacity mentors and Community Managers; they will also have the opportunity to qualify for a full Nano-degree scholarship.
Phase 2: 5,000 nano-degree scholarships
The top 5,000 students in the program will get an additional 6-month scholarship to one of four Nano degree programs: Front-End Web Developer, Mobile Web Specialist, Android Basics, and Android Developer.
These Audacity Google Scholarship programs offer a world-class curriculum, an innovative classroom experience, industry-leading instructors, expert project reviews, and a full suite of professional services.

Udacity is a for-profit educational organization founded by Sebastian Thrun, David Stevens, and Mike Sokolsky that offers massive open online courses (MOOCs). According to Thrun, the origin of the name Udacity stems from the company’s desire to be “bold for you, the student.”
Although originally focused on offering college-style courses, it now focuses more on vocational courses for professionals.
In November 2012, founder Sebastian Thrun won the Smithsonian American Ingenuity in Education Award for his work with Udacity.
Each of the courses offered by audacity consists of several units comprising video lectures with subtitles, with integrated quizzes to help students understand concepts and reinforce ideas, as well as follow-up assignments, promoting a “learn by doing” model.
The programming classes use the Python language; Programming assignments are graded using automated grading programs on Udacity’s servers.
Level/field of study
Scholarships are available to students of all levels, from beginners who have never written a line of code to experienced developers. The scholarships focus on software development for mobile (Android) and web devices, which represent an important part of the vacant positions in the current job market.

This scholarship is hosted by Google and audacity which are global brands.
Eligible Nationality
This Udacity Google scholarship is open only for citizens of the USA, Africa, and India.
Eligibility for Udacity Google Scholarships
To apply for this Audacity scholarship, you must be at least 18 years old and live in the US. You will start by choosing your learning path, whether you are a web developer or an Android developer. From there, once you are accepted, we will place you on one of two tracks, depending on your existing skills and experience, whether you are beginner or intermediate.
After that, the learning begins! Finally, the best students from each option will be awarded full scholarships to one of our nanodegree programs in web or Android development.

There are 25,000 seats available for the web developer route. If accepted, you will be placed on one of two tracks based on your experience level, which are
The beginner’s track: with up to 15,000 seats available. The top 1,500 Beginner Track students will receive scholarships for the Front End Web Developer nano degree program.
The Middle Track: On this track, some programming experience is required. what you will learn includes:
- 3 per month access to offline web apps supported by Udacity mentors.
- Build state-of-the-art, responsive web applications and grow as a developer.
The top 1,500 Beginner Track students will receive scholarships for the Front End Web Developer Nano Degree Program.

5 things you need to do to be selected for phase 2 of your Udacity Google Scholarship
From the pen of a former scholar of the previous Audacity Scholarship – A guide to help you get into the top 10% of scholars who will earn the additional 6-month Nano-degree scholarship.
First of all, congratulations on being selected for the scholarship challenge. You sure did a good job with your app! You can be proud of yourself! Many people were rejected, so if you are inside, feel privileged!
No matter if you were selected for the Front End Web Developer, Mobile Web Specialist, Android Basics, or Android Developer track, this article will help you get to the next stage, where the real magic happens.
So, let’s see what you need to do to get in!
#one. Get rid of your fear and/or disappointment
When the fellowship begins, you may feel confused or overwhelmed. You may even think that the fellowship experience is nothing but chaos, especially when you join the fellowship’s #Slack channel and see the plethora of posts pouring in. Here are some reactions you may experience:
- Depending on your skillset, you may think this is not for you, jump in because the initial video lessons seem too easy. or too hard
- In your schedule, you may feel that you are at a disadvantage as there are many people who can participate full time
- Based on your expectations, you may feel that this is not for you in general.
Well, let me tell you that I had a similar feeling 9 months ago when our Android Basics Nanodegree fellowship started. I will not say that your worries and fears are not valid, but you definitely have to overcome them. And remember this: chances are all of your fellow interns have the same feelings.
#two. Start to work
You had your reason to apply. You wanted to learn something new. You must not forget this. Generally, if you want something terrible, you don’t even need a scholarship, right? You can keep listing all your cons and problems, but they won’t get you any closer to your goal.
So just stop it. Start watching the videos and finish your contests and projects (if any). This whole seemingly chaotic situation will calm down soon.
#3. Understand the selection process
You can get much more from Udacity than just a video course and a credential. The Udacity community is something you definitely want to be a part of (there are thousands of reasons why this is true;
I’m not going to go into details now, just trust me on this!). And Udacity is serious about building it even more. That is why the contribution to this mission is the second most valued aspect in the selection process.
But let’s be more specific and see what the two aspects are, listed according to their importance:
I. Successful completion of course material and significant attempts on all quizzes and projects.
(Note: there is no reward for finishing first or early)
II. Support from fellow students and active participation in forums and on Slack.
This makes perfect sense. But how will recipients actually be selected? Well, in the case of course and forum completion, Udacity has all the data you need.
But what about Slack? You will have mentors, moderators, and administrators from the community, whose only job is to help and engage students.
However, Udacity also monitors the participants, and I think they put together a list of those who are taking the time to help others.
So here are the 5 things you need to do to be selected for the second phase of the Audacity scholarship
- Get over your initial fear/confusion/disappointment
- Complete your course material up to 100%.
- Use the forum – read, ask questions, answer questions, post your work, start useful threads/topics and you’ll be fine.
- Participate in Slack: Udacity monitors all channels. Try to spend at least 10 minutes each day to see what’s happening on your country channel, the ad channel, and the other channels you might be interested in.
- Enjoy! It is always important!
