One of the most crucial part of the student’s life is their college education, obtaining a higher degree to fulfill your career goals is never been easy, a lot of stress and financial boundaries, that’s why the University of Strathclyde in partnership with the Hongkong University of Science and Technology and the CLP Power Academy offers the International MSc Future Energy and Power System Smart Operation and Management Scholarship intended for international students to help them with financial assistance towards their education expenses for the academic year of 2022-2023.

The scholarship will be awarded to the students who will be commencing their master’s degree in Electronics and Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. The students who will be admitted to the MSc Future Energy and Power System Smart Operation and Management program will be eligible for the scholarship program. As a way to encourage outstanding students the university created the scholarship to determine every student’s aspects of their future career and how the scholarship can help them with their financial barriers to achieving their higher degree education.

The scholarship helps existing and ambitious engineers to deepen their knowledge of energy to nurture more professionals and promote research in the application of innovations and technologies in energy and power.

Eligibility

  • International students who hold an undergraduate degree.
  • Students must have 2:1normally or equivalent to their undergraduate degree

Application Process

Interested students, must be able to be admitted to the university to be considered and proceed to the application for the scholarship. The program is open to students with a first- or second-class undergraduate degree in relevant engineering (electronics, electricity, mechanics, energy, environmental or systems engineering) or natural sciences (mathematics, computer science, and physics) degree from a recognized academic institution. Other subjects may be considered in individual cases. The number of admissions is approximately 30 for each academic year of the program.

Applications from applicants to the program will be reviewed by Strathclyde, HKUST, and CLP Power. Selected candidates are interviewed before being selected and co-recruited by HKUST and Strathclyde and must meet the admission requirements of the university.

Language Requirements 

All courses will be thought in the English Language, international students are required to submit evidence of proficiency for the English language test required.

Scholarship Award

The University of Strathclyde will be providing an award to five successful international students with a total value of £5,000 each individual for a duration of 1 year of master’s study in the United Kingdom. The scholarship awards can be used to cover the tuition fee of successful students.

Beneficiary of the awards must read and agreed to the terms and conditions applied to the scholarship, failing to meet the eligibility and submitting false information at the admission will result in withdrawal of the awards. The award is non-transferable and can only be used in one academic year at the University. Recipients of the award can renew the award by maintaining the academic merit required by the university.

Scholarship Deadline 

The deadline to complete and submit the application for the scholarship is until August 26, 2022. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered, however international students can re-apply for the next scholarship opening at the University of Strathclyde in the United Kingdom.
