Scholarship endowment:

The Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung Foundation will allocate the following prizes:

  • A monthly scholarship of 2,500 euros.
  • Funds to cover accommodation and stay while doing research in another European country, if necessary.
  • Travel expenses if not assumed by third parties.
  • Mobility assignment for the participation in necessary conferences, and research trips, among others. Humboldt points out that this can be in Germany or in other parts of the globe.
  • Subsidy in medical insurance and civil liability insurance.
  • Allowance for accompanying family members who remain in German territory for at least three (3) months.
  • Single parents will also have access to an allowance for their accompanying children under the age of 18.
  • Scholarship in an intensive language course. Accompanying spouses of fellows can also apply to this program.
  • Funds of 800 euros per month for research in Natural Sciences and Engineering. For research in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences, an amount of 500 euros will be issued.

Conditions that must be met by participants:

  • An international student that reflects academic excellence, in addition to demonstrating that they have completed a course in Ph.D., C.Sc or equivalent. Do not exceed four (4) years of validity of the title before submitting your application.
  • Have knowledge of the English language, spoken and written. If you manage the German language, it is a point in favor of your presentation sheet.
  • Not have visited Germany for a period of 18 months prior to applying. If you do not meet this requirement, you will not be eligible for the scholarship.
  • Submit a formal online registration for the Humboldt Research Scholarship in Germany for Latinos through the official website of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation-Stiftung.
