Eastern University in Sri Lanka has a wonderful selection of subjects for students all over the world to come and study. While pursuing higher education, students should check ahead of time if they will be able to submit an admissions application to Eastern University before signing up for a scholarship. Eastern University was established in 1986 and has become a top contending higher education institution in Sri Lanka. The main campus college is located in Vantharumoolai, Sri Lanka. Currently the university is going under construction to re-do a bunch of new installments to not only upgrade but this includes upgrading classes as well.
The official mission and visual statements that the university sends out is to work more with socio-economic communities and by providing enough academic resources to bring out the best in each academic student.
Eligibility
- Students must be enrolled, recently accepted, or already attending the Eastern University in Sri Lanka.
- This is a finically-based scholarship, and if the finances of the family change then the student must re-submit a new updated application.
- After a student is chosen for this scholarship they cannot accept another.
- International students are welcome to apply and must have their student visa ready when applying.
- Students cannot have a long term absence and remain in valid condition with this scholarship. Instead students may be asked to repay a percentage that wasn’t used for academic purposes.
- If a student receives a criminal offense or damages public property they will lose all rights to this scholarship funding opportunity.
Requirements
There are a number of guidelines and rules students must follow to maintain the valid status of this scholarship opportunity.
To keep this scholarship students need to have an above average attendance rating (80%) along with attending all lectures, work-study programs, and any necessary off campus talks that may need to be attended. Attending these programs means the student is serious about becoming a recipient of this scholarship and is intending to do all of the right steps to keep this scholarship.
How to Apply
Students that are interested can go and download the ‘Application for Academic Administrative Position’ to get started on their higher education journey. This is the first step.
Students will need to provide relevant information that the form asks. This form can be submitted online.
For any student that has been awarded this scholarship they will see that the amount awarded will go directly into their college account. This is a necessary motion to ensure that the amount is received by the university and not used by the student towards non-education reasons.
All individuals interested should go to the original website to read through what is asked of them to agree with. Such as, attending class regularly, no long absences, no classes are dropped or the student does not decide to leave the university.
Reward – Extra Benefits
Tuition fees in Sri Lanka can be anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000 USD for a single academic year. With this scholarship funding opportunity to provide a 50% wavier to all tuition fees and cost, that means a student may only need to pay $1,500 to $2,500 for the remaining portion for that academic year.
The scholarship will be distributed a maximum of 10 different installments.
Deadline Time Line
The deadline time line follows the same academic schedule with first-time students, or all students. At the beginning of January 2023. Now students can fill out an extension deadline form that would allow them to follow the right steps to secure enough time to send in valuable information.

Open Submission Window Time Frame
Students can submit in 2022 for the 2023 academic year. As long as the application is sent in before January 1, 2023, then the student will be on the right track towards potentially winning this scholarship opportunity.
Annual or Renewable Scholarship Options
This is an annual scholarship that can be renewed for the next academic school year. However, students or recipients that wish to have this scholarship repeating for a second time need to follow the exact rules that are described above and on the original university website.
