At Bowie State University there are multiple scholarships available however, many may have not heard about ‘transfer student’ scholarships. These scholarships are only available to international students who wish to study at the institution, and therefore a certain amount will be gifted or rewarded to those students who pick that school as their secondary education.

Bowie State University recognized as the home of The Maryland Center. This is a not-for-profit organization founded in the later 1999s which helped to provide community services. This partnership can into development with the federal General Services Administration, the campus hosts the Bowie State University Telecommuting Center as well. This was a huge victory and change in the community where community service actions were recognized for their efforts.
- The students must be transfer students and must be considered international students. This means any students who are not from the United States are very welcome to apply for this scholarship.
- The transfer student must be transferring over to Bowie State as a full-time individual and is still working towards their Bachelor’s level major.
- Upon transferring, the student must already have a few credits available to ensure that there basic core classes have been covered, this means a student will already need to have 24 credits available on their transcript.
- The student must not let their grade point average fall below 2.8.
- International students from all over may apply.
- Students must have the accredited credits to transfer otherwise the transfer will not happen successfully.
A major requirement that is asked of the transfer students who wish to be awarded the prize of this scholarship need to sign up with financial aid by March 1, following the academic year.
Financial aid can be received from an international students own native government when it comes to being a transfer student.
Students should look in to applying for financial aid beforehand to make sure that all of the legal proceedings that are needed when it comes to having full financial coverage over tuition and state tuition when it comes to universities.
All students have the option to live on campus but typically it is required of first year students to live on campus in the dorms. Accommodation payment is not covered by this scholarship amount reward.
How to Apply
The best way to apply for this transfer scholarship is for students to apply for admission to Bowie State University as a transfer student.
This way the student will not have to apply for separate scholarship application once that transfer student applies to the institution.
The student must provide letters of recommendation, send transcripts, have enough credits to send over to the university which is no less than 24.
Reward – Extra Benefits
A student is able to receive up to $4,000 to help pay for tuition and any excess fees that may pop up. The $4,000 will go to the bank where the student holds their college loan information, the amount can not be asked to be transformed into cash or check.
If the student takes out the amount and does not use it to pay of educational debt, the student will have to forfeit there award prize.
There are two available transfer student deadlines which fall into the ‘Fall and Spring semesters.”
Fall semester is on June 1, 2022 with the Spring semester landing on December 15, 2022. These are the only two available deadlines shown for a transfer student to send in their transcripts and admissions to Bowie State University.
Open Submission Window Time Frame
The open submissions window time frame for Bowie State University will be open from March until June 1, 2022. Then again from October to December 15, 2022. Since there are two open submission windows available each academic year this gives enough time to transfer students to stay on track according to their academic year.
If a student is not yet prepared then that transfer student if they are still considered an undergraduate into 2023, then the student can wait until to apply for transfer admission to Bowie State University.
This is an annual scholarship that is available to all new incoming undergraduate transfer students. This includes international students that have recently transferred.
