Scholarship offered by CONACYT for Mexican mothers without a partner, doing undergraduate university studies, and with minor child(ren).

The scholarship to Support Mexican Mothers Heads of Households to Strengthen their Professional Development – CONACYT is offered by the National Council for Science and Technology (Conacyt), through the Coordination of Support for Scholars and Researchers (CABI). 

Single, divorced, widowed, or separated Mexican mothers who are studying or are interested in carrying out face-to-face professional studies at the higher technical university or undergraduate levels, in a full-time school system, are invited to participate in the selection process for obtaining an Inclusion Scholarship.

OBJECTIVE

Increase capacities in specific and priority fields, promoting equal opportunities among people, by supporting mothers who are heads of households enrolled in higher university technician or bachelor’s programs, to strengthen their academic skills and facilitate their insertion in the labor market and with the commitment that upon completion of their studies, they contribute to the development and well-being of the people of Mexico, in accordance with the Scholarship Regulations for Strengthening the Community of Humanities, Sciences, Technologies and Innovation (Conacyt Scholarship Regulations) and the Operating Rules of the Conacyt Postgraduate Scholarship and Quality Support Program of the S190 Budget Program (ROP of Pp. S190).

TARGET POPULATION

The population of Mexican single mother students, divorced, widowed or separated, who are admitted and enrolled in professional study programs of university superior technician or degree in face-to-face mode, in a full-time school system in Public Higher Education Institutions ( IES) or in Conacyt Public Research Centers (CPI).

VALIDITY OF THE SCHOLARSHIP

The validity of the scholarship will be from 6 to 48 months and will be determined according to the duration of the study program established in the Recognition of Official Validity of Studies (RVOE) registry, which may not be extended for any reason, nor exceed the maximum validity established in the Conacyt Scholarship Regulations.
When the applicant has started their study program prior to the scholarship calendar period, the minimum term will be 6 months and they must cover the remaining time to complete their academic program.

What benefits do the Scholarships to Support Mexican Mothers Heads of Households offer to Strengthen their Professional Development – CONACYT?

1. Monthly economic support for $4,000.00 (Four thousand pesos 00/100 MN).
1.1. Annual single amount of $2,000.00 (Two thousand pesos 00/100 MN) for school material expenses, allocated at the beginning of each annual school cycle in the months of August or September of each year, depending on the start date of the scholarship.
2. Medical service provided by the State Workers Social Security and Services Institute (ISSSTE). The registration of successors by the scholarship holder must be carried out in accordance with the provisions established by the ISSSTE.

NOTES

a. The scholarship does not include remedial or preparatory courses, social service or degree procedures.
b. The amount of financial support will be granted taking into account full months, regardless of the start and end date of the studies.
c. If the scholarship is awarded, the validity will be established in the Scholarship Assignment Letter, called “Annex One” which is part of the Scholarship Assignment Agreement (CAB).
d. Supervision instance: The support granted within the framework of this student grant may be subject to technical and accounting reviews or audits deemed pertinent by Conacyt or the respective supervisory instances, during the validity of the scholarship and at its termination, for a period of 5 years, without requiring the explicit authorization of the beneficiaries.

Registration of academic programs: From May 31 to June 17, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. (Central Mexico time).

Period for receiving applications: From June 10 to July 1, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. (Central Mexico time).

Period of inconsistencies: From July 11 to 22, 2022

Publication of results on the Conacyt portal: August 12, 2022

Formalization of support: From August 15 to September 30, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. (Central Mexico time).

Start of the scholarship on August 1 or September 1, 2022
