Norwich University of the Art value diversity and recognize the valuable contribution that international students make to our community. We are pleased to provide a number of international student scholarships.

About the Scholarship:

Norwich University of the Arts is a vibrant and creative community that educates students in the arts, design, and media. In the National Student Survey 2014, NUA was selected the best specialised arts, design, and media university in the UK for the second year in a row by students. The Norwich School of Design was founded in 1845 in Norwich’s St Georges Street to provide design education for local industry. Artists and followers of the Norwich School, the only provincial British school to gain an international reputation for landscape painting, were among the founding members. For years, the institution has been at the core of Norwich’s cultural community, and in 2012 it was granted University status. The Times Higher Education Awards (2014) recognized NUA the winner of the Excellence and Innovation in the Arts Award, and the Research Excellence Framework 2014 lauded NUA for world-leading research. Within six months of graduation, 92 percent of NUA graduates found work or continued their studies (Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education 2013/14). Seven buildings make up the university campus, which is located in and around Norwich’s pedestrianized St. Georges Street. The recently renovated Duke Street Building, which houses the library; the Monastery Media Lab, a world-class digital design centre; The Garth, a converted 13th century monastic relic and now the new centre for photography; the Guntons Design and Fashion studios; and St. Georges, with its traditional high ceilings and huge windows, which makes it the ideal studio space for Fine Art.

As a result, an exceptional, inspiring, and one-of-a-kind creative environment has emerged. The Gallery’s regular program of exhibitions and events has earned it a prestigious reputation. It is at the centre of the University’s and city’s cultural life, attracting a large national and international audience. It is not only an important touring venue that has hosted national and international exhibitions by Colin Self, Marc Camille Chaimowicz, Jerwood Contemporary Painters, and Jake & Dinos Chapman, but it also serves as a Degree Show space and a valuable resource for installation and curating experience for students. The library holds the Eastern region’s largest specialist art, design, and media collection, with over 33,000 books, over 400 journal subscriptions, over 800 DVDs, and a vast array of electronic resources. Access to networked computers and group study places are available in the workspaces.

Lighting sets, dolly kits, film and digital video and audio recording kits, as well as essential accessories, are all portable equipment for location filmmaking. NUA is a current Erasmus Charter institution, which means that students can earn credit for studying abroad as part of their degree. As part of the British Council Erasmus programme, students can spend 3 months to a year of their course in a European study destination, and each year there are a number of opportunities for students to participate in exchanges with approved European partner universities with Erasmus funding support. BAs in Animation, Design, Fashion, Film, Illustration, Architecture, Photography, Textiles, and Games Art are among the undergraduate courses available. NUA has extensive industrial connections through its courses. At NUA, employability is emphasized in every degree program. With over 2,500 creatives, the NUA community is large enough to be vibrant but small enough to know students by name.

Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) is a university dedicated to the arts, architecture, design, and media. At a university known for its exceptional teaching quality, industry-standard facilities, and high student satisfaction, students join a creative community. NUA has a strong track record in terms of employability; its alumni go on to have successful jobs in a variety of fields, including fashion, fine art, and film, as well as photography, games, and visual effects.
