The Moshal Scholarship Program 2022 is available to scholars within and outside of South Africa who is looking to continue their education at a higher level.

Moshal Bursary’s primary goal is to provide access to college education to make a noticeable difference in the lives of disadvantaged students, their families, their communities, and hopefully the world at large one day.

The primary purpose of the Moshal Scholarship Program is to provide both financial and moral support to motivated and determined students from challenging backgrounds to pursue high-quality and coveted degrees leading to successful careers.

To develop a range of skills and values in our Moshal Scholars that support their evolution into resilient, responsible, and respected individuals and professionals, therefore Moshal Scholarship is built from the four pillars of Education, Community, Soft Skills, and Values.

About the Moshal Scholarship Program Founder

Martin Moshal was Born in Durban, South Africa, in 1970. Even while at school, Martin had already set his sights on business administration. , pursuing a diverse range of ideas and interests. Most ended in failure, but that didn’t deter him.

Martin firmly believes that there is no secret formula for success other than hard work, motivation, and a lot of patience. But there is also a lot of luck. “I was lucky to have received two things that, more than anything else, helped me on the road to success: a good education and the support and encouragement of my family to believe in myself.”

Growing up in South Africa in the 1970s and 1980s, Martin witnessed firsthand the inequities in the country’s education system. Even today, children growing up in disadvantaged families are denied the chance to go to a good college simply because of their financial circumstances.

This led Martin to establish the Moshal Scholarship Program in 2009. “As a businessman, I believe that education provides some of the greatest returns for your money.” While there are no financial strings attached to the scholarships, Martin strongly encourages the spirit of making a difference for others once students are in a position to do so.

“Pay up,” he tells all Moshal fellows, “wherever and whenever you have the opportunity to help others. It doesn’t have to be in the money. It can be in time, advice or effort. “

To date, the Moshal Scholarship Program currently offers scholarships to over 700 Moshal Scholars in Israel, South Africa, and Ukraine to enable determined young people from challenging backgrounds to attend top universities in their home countries.
