The year 1990 saw the transition of BU into a polytechnic institution. In addition to being associated with the Association of Commonwealth Universities, it is a participant in the Florence Network. Talbot Campus, located in Poole, and Bournemouth Campus, located in Bournemouth, are the two campuses that make up BU (Lansdowne Campus). The Talbot Campus is located in Fern Barrow, Poole, and is sometimes referred to as the main campus because it contains the majority of the university’s most important facilities. The location is home to a variety of establishments, including a pharmacy, a branch of Santander Bank, a retail store, and the Students’ Union building. In addition, the University Library can be found on the Talbot Campus. The brand-new BU International College is a recent addition to this campus, and it provides international students with a location to gain academic skills relevant to their majors, in addition to improving their English language ability. In addition, there is a 3G AstroTurf arena, a gymnasium, a medical facility, and a number of other entertainment venues located on the campus.
