The Rotary Foundation is accepting applications for the Rotary Graduate Scholarship Program. This scholarship is for students from outside the UK (low and middle-income nationals) who intend to enroll in a postgraduate program of study in District 1090.

The scholarship is open for postgraduate programs awarded in the area of ​​Peace/Prevention/Conflict Resolution or Economic and Community, Disease Prevention and Treatment, Water and Sanitation, Maternal and Child Health, Basic Education and Literacy, and Economic Development and community.

Rotary Foundation Scholarships Eligibility

This scholarship is for students from outside the UK planning to take up a place on a postgraduate course within District 1090. To be eligible:

  • Applicants must come from a low or middle-income country (a country) as defined by the UK Government Department for International Development.
  • Applicants must have received a place in the 2022/23 academic year or expect to receive a postgraduate course. Applicants should expect an offer in April 2022.
  • The planned college course must align with either Rotary’s first Focus Area “Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution” or Rotary’s sixth Focus Area “Economic and Community Development.”
  • Candidates must study in Rotary University District 1090. They cover Brunel, Bucks New, Oxford, Oxford Brookes, and Reading universities.
  • Applicants must intend to start a new course in the academic year 2022/23, i.e. this scholarship will not be awarded to a student starting the second year of a postgraduate course.
  • Rotarians cannot apply. Applicants cannot be related to a Rotarian (partner, child, or grandchild of a Rotarian or current Rotarian within the last three years). The scholarships are funded by global grants, which are generally considered ineligible for Rotarians and their families to receive global grants.

Rotary Foundation Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

We will accept applications from candidates who meet the criteria below and have been offered places to study on one of the following one-year full-time Master’s courses from September/October 2022:

Reading University:

• MSc in Environmental Pollution
• MSc in Environmental Management
We hope that the course and the professional careers and community work of the students will fit within the focus area of ​​Water and Sanitation.

Brunel University:

• Masters in Anthropology of Childhood, Youth and Education.
• MSc in Anthropology of International Development and Humanitarian Assistance
• MSc in Children, Youth, and International Development
• MSc in Water Engineering
• MSc in Public Health and Health Promotion
These courses could fit into any of our six focus areas. Applicants are asked to explain in which area of ​​focus their studies, careers, and community work best fit.

Rotary Foundation Scholarship Application Procedure:

  • This is a two-step application process.
  • This scholarship is awarded by the Rotary Foundation Headquarters in the United States, but must first be approved by Rotary District 1090.
  • Applicants must complete the online application form and submit it before March 31 by 5:00 pm.
