For the international students and local students who will be commencing their undergraduate program, they can now start their application and be engaged in the classroom experience that encourages interactions that can strengthen their skills, communication, and knowledge.

The University of La Verne wants to encourage international students who can demonstrate their academic excellence to apply for the International Undergraduate Scholarship and Financial Aid for the academic year of 2022-2023. The scholarship will be based on the international student’s merits and the English language examination.

International Undergraduate Scholarship and Financial Aid 

A competitive merit-based scholarship will be intended for the international undergraduate students and there will be no separate application the scholarship will be considered once reviewers and completed the submitted applications.

The permanent resident and local students will be eligible for the merit-based scholarships amounting to up to $30,000 manually and need-based financial aid. The merit scholarship is communicated to the student in the acceptance letter. The full funding package usually follows three weeks after the acceptance decision.

Criteria are based on the student’s average performance and test scores on the day of admission. Financial support is based on FAFSA results. The main submission deadline is October 1 of the senior year. The priority period ends on March 2. Students are encouraged to submit to FAFSA once they meet the requirements.

International Transfer Scholarship 

  • International Trustee Scholarship
    International transfer students who obtained a GPA of 3.50 or above will be eligible and will be receiving an annual amount of $17,000.
  • International Founders Scholarship 
    International transfer students who obtained a GPA of 3.21-3.50  will be eligible and will be receiving an annual amount of $15,000.
  • International Leo Scholarship 
    International transfer students who obtained a GPA of 3.0-3.20  will be eligible and will be receiving an annual amount of $7,000.

The students may be able to renew their scholarships by maintaining a 3.0 GPA.

Application Required Documents 

The application process must be made through the admission of the university, the students may also apply through the online portal provided by the university.

Official transcripts must arrive in original sealed envelopes issued directly by the student’s past university. Copies sent by hand will not be considered or accepted. Applicants should also ask their university to provide an official English version of the transcript and accompanying diploma in addition to the original language transcript.

The academic certificate must be issued by the central administrative office of the institution, which is responsible for the preparation and verification of official study files. They are not considered official documents issued by a separate academic department or notary.

The certificate must be stamped by the university in the original envelope (envelope must not be labeled) and must be submitted within thirty days from the date it was issued. The certificate must be on the school’s official report card. Photocopying is not allowed and is never considered official.

Scholarship Important Dates 

The university will review all the application that has been submitted at the earliest. Even after the deadline, the university will still accept all applications until the course classes are full, but they still encourage every interested international student to apply on the following date:

  • Freshmen Students, the deadline for application is until December 1, 2022.
  • Transfer students, the deadline of application is until April 1 to December 1, 2022.

Terms of application for the international students

The students who can continue their application as international students are:

  • International students who are currently residing in another country and not a citizen in the USA.
  • Currently residing in the USA as an international student.
  • The deserving international students can renew their scholarship annually and must be able to maintain their GPA.
  • The scholarship amount will be $3,000 to $30,000 that the students can use towards their education expenses.
  • Credential evaluation can be waived for the international students who can meet the criteria of the university.
  • All transcripts of records must be translated into the English language, if in case the documents cant be translated they should be submitted in original language with a notarized translation that can be conducted in the accredited translation services.
  • Students must be able to read the terms and conditions applied to the scholarship.

Financial Aid 

The University of La Verne annually offers financial aid to both local and international students who can be qualified and be able to demonstrate their financial needs. The students can start their FAFSA.

All scholarships offered by the university will be offered annually.
