The mining sector is funding this scholarship in partnership with Curtin University’s Geotechnical Engineering Group, which is led by Professor Mohamed Shahin. The fund’s goal is to develop environmentally friendly, long-lasting, and innovative cementation treatment technologies, such as bio-cementation and geopolymerization, to improve the performance of mining by-product materials used in mining infrastructure applications.

Curtin University, Australia’s first university of technology, was founded in 1966 and is an innovative, global university. The Western Australian Institute of Technology was the university’s previous name. The Western Australian Parliament gave it university status in 1986. Scholarship Offer:

The chosen candidate will get a tax-free stipend of $30,000 per year. The scholarship will last for three years. The scholarship will pay tuition fees for the length of the award if the successful candidate is an overseas student.


Eligibility for Scholarship 

  1. A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a similar discipline (H1 or First-Class Honours).
  2. Fluency in the English language (refer to the English language requirements in Curtin University website).
  3. It is desirable to have knowledge or a master’s degree in a related research topic, as well as publications.
