Scholarship details
The Fulbright – MinCiencias postgraduate scholarships for Colombians are offered by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation of Colombia (Minciencias) and the Fulbright Colombia Commission, which combine institutional and budgetary efforts to support the high-level training of 40 Colombian professionals and researchers.
This scholarship program is part of one of the institutional strategic objectives of the Ministry, which seeks to enhance the regional capacities of CTeI that promote social and productive development towards a Scientific Colombia. Additionally, it is articulated with the guidelines of both CONPES 3981 of 2019, as well as CONPES 4069 of 2021.
Consistent with the guidelines of the national government, this call is also part of the need expressed by the Mission of Wise Men to contribute to the construction and implementation of a public policy of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation and support the formation of human capital in postgraduate studies of Colombians committed to responding to the social, economic and productive challenges of the country.
The Fulbright Colombia Commission awards scholarships to professionals of excellence chosen through a system of academic and professional merits, giving them the opportunity to study, teach, research, exchange ideas and find solutions to challenges and interests of local, national, and global scope.
Likewise, it seeks to see all the population groups of the country represented in its scholarship programs. For this reason, within the framework of the call, diverse candidates are sought, from all regions and corners of Colombia, regardless of their sexual orientation, creed, ethnicity, or type of disability. In addition to the above, candidates who stand out for their high social and educational commitment to the country are sought.

1. Application fees for up to five (5) university programs in the United States.
2. Tuition exemption (it may be total, partial, or null depending on the candidate’s profile).
3. Academic expenses (includes university costs, maintenance, and air tickets).
4. Pre-academic in the United States (according to candidate profile).
5. Basic Program for Accidents and Illnesses with Minimum Coverage (ASPE).
6. Orientation seminar in Colombia.
7. US Enrichment Seminar.
8. Cost and processing of Visa J-1 and J-2.
9. Vouchers to take standardized tests.
10. Comprehensive accompaniment and monitoring.
11. In particular, this call seeks to finance 100% forgivable educational credits for doctoral studies for Colombian professionals at universities in the United States.
