The Bursary

Founded by  Mr. Geraint Hughes a law alumnus of Kings College London and partner of Clifford Chance, the  Tynybedw Law Bursary will be offered for outstanding students who want to further their undergraduate degree at Kings College London for the academic year of 222-2023. The bursary aims to support the education of the students in the field of Law.

Mr. Geraint Hughes aims to support the students who want to start their own legal careers, the bursary provides the successful students with educational funding that will cover a significant proportion of their study cost at King’s College London University and aim to give the successful students the opportunity to fulfill their higher education in the field of Law at one of the best university in the United Kingdom.

The scholarship is created to offer assistance to the students who need financial support to further their education, the scholarship will be based on the student’s personal statements and the applicant’s financial needs.

Scholarship Eligibility 

Before proceeding with the application, the students must meet the following eligibility:

  • The applicants must be undertaking their undergraduate degree in law.
  • Must be classified as a home paying fee student and a resident of Wales.
  • The law program must be for the academic year entry of 2022.
  • £59,200 assessed household income pa or leass
  • Must be in  receipt of the Welsh Government Learning Grant
  • Must be taken up the maximum entitlement of the Governments UK help on the tuition fee, loans, grants, or living expenses.
  • Must have received the Student Finance Wales consent to provide the personal financial information with the university.
  • Must firmly accept the offer of a place at the Kings College London in the Law program at an undergraduate degree level.

Application Process

The eligible students can download the application form at the provided application portal of the university. The application form must be completed before submitting it to [email protected].

The applicants must make sure to complete all the questions on the section of the forms, the questions attached to the forms are designed to better know the student’s financial needs and their academic circumstances and all answers must be clear as possible.

This scholarship aims to support talented students whose scholarships will make a significant financial difference to their studies at King’s. Please describe your and your family’s current financial situation to highlight any outstanding supporting information that may not be included in the body of the application form. This may include whether you are the first member of your family to complete a bachelor’s degree.

You can also add references to unexpected financial or personal events that directly affected your studies or proved to challenge you in pursuing your place at university, as well as information about your extracurricular activities and membership in organizations, volunteering, etc. Be sure to provide details of your academic and professional aspirations and how you believe receiving this scholarship will help you achieve them. All information will be treated as strictly confidential. The statement should not be exceeded 60 words.

Scholarship Award 

The Kings College London will provide a scholarship amounting to £25,000 and will be payable for three years. The scholarship can be made as a cash bursary for a successful student.

The recipient of the award must maintain or progress in their academics to be able to receive the awards annually for up to three years.

Scholarship Deadline 

The deadline to submit and complete the application is until August 21, 2022.
