About the Scholarship:
Monash University is a modern, worldwide, research-intensive university that provides education and research excellence in Australia and throughout the Indo-Pacific region. It is a member of the Russell Group of universities. Through our education, research, and alumni network, we are bringing about constructive change. The influence we want to have on today’s main global concerns – such as climate change, geopolitical insecurity, and creating healthy communities – is a particular emphasis of our efforts. In addition to being Australia’s largest university, we have four Australian campuses located on the traditional grounds of the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung people of the Kulin Nations. Our worldwide campuses are located in Malaysia, China, India, Italy, and Indonesia, where we established the country’s first foreign university campus. We presently have more than 80,000 students studying with us, and we have a vibrant alumni community of more than 420,000 people spread over 160 countries. As a result of our international reputation for educational and research excellence, we are ranked among the world’s top-100 universities (48th in the 2021 US News and World Report Best Global Universities Rankings; 64th in the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Rankings), and we are a founding member of the Group of Eight universities. Our commitment to overcoming the difficulties of our day is reflected in a number of remarkable accomplishments, which include: As part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, we’ve made a historic pledge to reduce our carbon footprint and become the first Australian university to commit to an energy reduction target, as part of our initiative to attain net zero emissions by 2030. A Monash education is global in scope, interwoven with the world of practice, and taught by academics who are actively engaged in research in their fields of specializationGlobal industry partnerships and collaboration; participation in innovative enterprises, including through start-ups and spin-offs such as our Generator and Accelerator programs; integrated work and experience; and a diverse range of study options, including undergraduate (single and double) and postgraduate degrees, higher degree research, open online courses, microcredentials, professional development, and alternative career paths. We provide a wide range of options, as well as flexibility and choice. We are constantly striving to create an inclusive and diverse atmosphere, as well as to assist in the improvement of the lives of those who reside in our communities. The Monash University campuses in Australia are located in and around the city of Melbourne, which serves as the state capital of Victoria. Melbourne has routinely ranked at or near the top of the Economist Intelligence Unit’s list of the world’s most liveable cities, according to the organization. Melbourne has been recognized on an impartial basis for its safety, culture, and environment, education, recreation, infrastructure, and climate, among other factors Beaches are within an hour’s drive of most Monash campuses, and some are only a few minutes away from others, while some of Victoria’s most prominent ski destinations are only three hours away from the university. Melbourne provides a wonderful base for students, with everything from fashion, food, and entertainment in the downtown area to national parks, wineries, and beaches in the outlying areas. Melbourne’s climate is temperate, and it is one of only a few areas in Australia that has four different seasons, which makes it unique. With many days above 30 degrees Celsius on a regular basis in the summer, the city’s beaches are popular, but the mountains around the city are frequently covered with snow during winter. Winter temperatures range from 7°C to 14°C on average, with the typical range being 7°C to 14°C. Monash University provides all students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience while they are studying.
