About the Scholarship:

The School of International Development at the University of East Anglia (UEA) is a world-class research and teaching institution in international development. The School is dedicated to creating a positive impact on the world. Their professors provide policy advice on significant global concerns such as poverty reduction and environmental sustainability on a regular basis. In the 2015 Guardian University Guide, UEA was ranked fifth for Geography and Environmental Studies, with 98% of their students satisfied with their course and 97% satisfied with their teaching. Students graduate with academic expertise, practical skill training, and frequently a work placement as part of their degree. The School of International Development is placed 4th in the UK for overall research in the Research Excellence Framework (REF2014), with 74% of their research rated “World-leading” or “Internationally exceptional” (Times Higher Education). The school has a lake called Broad on its southern side, which is a fantastic place to go bird watching. On-campus housing is available in a variety of residence halls and buildings. On the campus, there are also cafes, bars, a tavern, a canteen, a book shop, and a bank. It is also well-connected to Norwich’s central business district and the railway station. The area’s frequent buses, taxis, and railroads provide for a convenient form of transit. The university’s academic organization is divided into four faculties, each of which comprises 26 schools of study. Each of these universities offers a diverse range of degree programs in the sciences, medicine and health sciences, social sciences and arts, and humanities. Furthermore, the University of East Anglia’s Student Union contains around 200 organizations and sports clubs that cater to a variety of hobbies such as music, sports, debate, dancing, and so on. The university now has roughly 16,872 students, including 12,888 undergraduates and 3,984 postgraduates. Its administrative team consists of 3,712 people who work hard to ensure that the company’s operations run smoothly. In THE global university Ranking 2019, it is ranked in the top 50 for research citations. The campus of the University of East Anglia was planned so that everything you need for living and studying is only a few minutes away. Our library is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and offers study, computer, social, and quiet rooms. On campus, students can perform their shopping, banking, laundry, mailing, and shipping. There are several opportunities to dine, drink, and mingle with a vibrant, multi-cultural population. Accommodation is dispersed throughout campus, with each providing students with a communal kitchen and a large number of single or some double-occupancy rooms. On-campus housing is guaranteed for international students. Live music events, club nights, film screenings, and a variety of student societies are all available on campus. The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts (which has been used as the Avengers HQ in various Marvel movies) and the University of East Anglia’s own medical center and on-campus dentist are all located on campus. Support services, a multifaith center, and career services are also available to students. UEA is investing £300 million in staff and student facilities. UEA built a state-of-the-art teaching and learning building for Science and Engineering in the summer of 2019. The Sky House, which will house the Arts and Humanities as well as several Social Sciences schools, will open in 2022. Norwich is about 1.5 hours by rail from London, 30 minutes from the beautiful beaches of the Norfolk coast, and 40 minutes by plane from Amsterdam. Norwich boasts a flourishing artistic community as well as a recognized music and cultural scene, and has been named one of the most vegan-friendly cities in the world. Furthermore, the city has been named one of the best shopping cities in the UK, with a diverse choice of stores ranging from independent boutiques to high-street brands like Apple and Hollister. The University of East Anglia believes in investing for the future. As an international research-intensive institution in the heart of Norwich Research Park, the university is committed to creating innovative ways, constructing new facilities, and sponsoring new scholarships in order to achieve excellence in research and education. UEA is committed to campus investment, including the creation of new learning settings, the enhancement of new learning technology, and the development of tomorrow’s leaders. Many of UEA’s professors and teachers are international experts who are at the forefront of their disciplines. Dr. Michael Wormstone, a specialist in cataract research; Dr. Paul Bernal, a published expert on internet privacy rights; Dr. Eylem Atakav, who is teaching the first Women, Islam, and Media course in the UK; and Professor Matt Hutchings’ work developing novel antibiotics are just a few examples. Importantly, UEA faculty and staff are equally committed to students and their studies as they are to their own research. This means that studies are informed by the most recent thinking and research. It also implies that students will graduate with in-depth understanding of areas of their subject that are still emerging today, in addition to a solid foundation in the study field.
