For the academic year of 2022-2023, the University of Sydney in Australia wants to encourage international postgraduate degree students to pursue their engineering programs with the help of the Engineering International Students Postgraduate Merit Scholarship. The university has organized the scholarship to extend help to the deserving outstanding students with academic excellence to pursue their higher degrees and be one of the scholars who will be receiving a total value amount of $20,000 to be used towards their tuition fees.

Scholarship Eligibility 

Before proceeding with the application process, the students must check their eligibility for the program.

• Must be an International student and will be admitted to a Master’s coursework degree in the Engineering department at the Univerity of Sydney.
• Must be able to apply for admission at the University of Sydney.
• The students must have achieved 75 of WAM or above in their previous studies.
• Have good academic merit and can demonstrate their educational achievements
• The international students must have good communication skills in oral and written English.
• Not already started their postgraduate courses at the Engineering Department or being transferred to another program.

Application Process 

The interested eligible applicants can start their application by logging in to the provided application online portal of the university. The scholarship application must be submitted separately at the university. Keep in mind that meeting the eligibility of the program is very important for the application process.

The unconditional offer for the scholarship will only be given once the student has been admitted to a full-time postgraduate degree in the engineering department at the University of Sydney.

Language Requirement 

The international students must meet the English language requirements of the University. All courses will be thought in the English language and must be able to submit the test score:

Selection Criteria 

• The scholarship award can only be awarded based on the academic merit of the applicants including the academic performances in their previous degree program.
• The scholarship will be reviewed and awarded by the scholarship selection committee consisting of the dean of education associates.
• Preferences will be given to the students who have not been offered a similar scholarship offer or any other high-valued scholarship at the university.

Scholarship Total Value 

The scholarship award will be valued at a total of $20,000 and will only be available for the first year of study of the recipient of the award. The beneficiary of the award must read and agreed to the terms and conditions applied to the scholarship.

The scholarship award can be used towards the student’s tuition fee and no other amount will be sent to the students.
