To improve the haptic experience of users of medical robotics (for example, in Rehabilitation, Diagnostics, and Surgery), the project will focus on developing mechatronics tools that can be attached to robotics arms. These tools will be used in medical robotics. As a result, you will be given the responsibility to design the tools, put them through their paces in terms of testing, and collaborate with the other researchers in the group to include them into the robot arms.

We are looking for a PhD student to work on the development of mechatronics interfaces that can be put on robot arms to conduct a variety of medical tasks. Medical robots are designed to function safely near vulnerable individuals. This research is a component of a wider initiative that aims to build modular medical robots that are capable of a wide variety of medical functions and can be reprogrammed directly by medical staff. In other words, a robot that, depending on the requirements of the clinical situation, is capable of doing ultrasound scans, rehabilitation, or even minor surgeries.

About the Scholarship:

The University of Sussex is located in the south of England, close to Brighton, and it was established in the 1960s. It is a preeminent institution of higher education that is devoted to research. It was the first of the new wave of institutions in the United Kingdom to acquire its Royal Charter in the year 1961, and it is widely regarded as having one of the most aesthetically pleasing campuses in all of England.

The campus of the University of Sussex is located in one of the most picturesque parts of the United Kingdom. The campus is located on the outskirts of Brighton in rolling parkland, and it features both award-winning architecture as well as beautiful open spaces. The buildings that make up the core of the campus were accorded the status of listed buildings in 1993. Sir Basil Spence was the architect for these structures. In addition to this, Falmer House is one of only two educational buildings in the United Kingdom to be awarded the highest possible Grade I listing, which is given in recognition of the building’s outstanding significance.

There are a total of twelve schools and research groups that are supported by the university. It offers more than 500 different programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. There are around 16,820 students enrolled in various programs at the University of Sussex, with one-fourth of them being postgraduates. Students from the home country make up approximately 76 percent of the total student population, while students from other countries make up approximately 24 percent. The overall number of personnel on the teaching staff is over 2,200, with around 1,803 lessons and more than 300 research staff combined. More than one hundred countries are represented among the faculty and student body at this university. About one-third of the faculty and personnel at the institution hails from a country other than their own.

The university’s departments of social science and humanities are largely responsible for the institution’s widespread fame. It maintains a global as well as a local perspective, and it provides continuous involvement in the activities and services of the community.

The institution has a worldwide perspective, and it is proud of its alumni who have found success in practically every industry, both inside and outside of the country. In addition to this, some of the proud graduates include ambassadors, heads of state, legislators, prominent scientists, and activists. In addition to this, its teaching team includes a number of individuals who have been awarded the famous Nobel Prize, members of the British Academy, and a recipient of the Crafoord Prize. According to Times Higher Education, the Institution of Sussex is the 160th best university in the world. Additionally, the university has a number of departments that are placed in the top 100 in the world. These departments include business and economics, social sciences, psychology, and law.
