Scholarship details
The Justus & Louise Van Effen Excellence Scholarships available are financed by the legacy left by Mr. Justus and Mrs. Louise van Effen. Mr. Justus van Effen had studied at TU Delft in the 1940’s and strongly believed technological developments will contribute to solving societal issues.
TU Delft is the Delft University of Technology, which is famously known as the number one Dutch public university to attend. The university was established in 1842 which makes it one of the oldest in the world.
Delft University of Technology is known for many of the interesting technologies that the world has today. A few of them are: Superbus, KitePower, Nuna, DUT Racing, Forze, The Ocean Cleanup Project, DelFly, Tribler, Glaciogenic Reservoir Analogue Studies Project, Stratos II+, and many many more.
Eligibility
- Only international students can apply
- All applicants must show excellent academic merit
- Applicants can participate if they are going for a Master’s program in the field study of their choice
- As stated only students pursuing a Master’s degree can participate
- Students must be sure that they have been accepted to TU Delft before submitting in their scholarship application
Requirements
The students applying must be non-EU students, otherwise the application will be ignored. The student can not have an EU visa either. For international students looking for a student visa all they have to do is contact admissions and they will walk the student through acquiring a student visa for the Netherlands.
How to Apply
All applicants are required to go through the checklist to see if they fit the criteria the university is looking for in recipients.
All applicants must complete the application and submit, there will be no room to re-edit the application. Once a student application is submitted that is the final version.
Two reference letters will need to be uploaded and attached to the application. After those two things, the student needs to upload their English language certificate as well. Applicants must show proof that they have received an acceptance notice from the university.
Students must be absolutely sure that they have everything needed for filling out their scholarship application correctly. Otherwise the application if left blank or incorrect will be ignored and thrown out.
Reward
Only students who have been granted the scholarship will be informed by TU Delft via email by the last week of March in 2023.
The reward includes coverage of the full tuition fees for that current year. There will also be a contribution to living exchanges and fees that the student encounter.
This total amount can easily be rounded up to 18,000 euros if the student is probable and shows excellent academic success.
Deadline
December 1, 2022 is the official deadline. This is the only official deadline date and the university asks it’s applicants to submit before that actual date has arrived. The submissions sent in earlier have a higher change of being accepted.
Annual
This is an annual scholarship that is available once a year, each year. There are other scholarship available for students if they pass their grade and progress further towards their degrees to pursue.
