The AUC Scholarship Fund looks to help international students by receiving this incredible opportunity that can be used for 3 years. That means, this scholarship is a renewable option and allows students to use the funding that is gifted per year as the award.
Eligibility
- Applicants must either be Dutch or Non-EU citizens that apply for this scholarship.
- This scholarship can either be awarded to part-time or full-time students.
- Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence and merit in order to be awarded this scholarship opportunity.
- Family income must be presented and must be lower than the national threshold annual amount.
- Students that apply must present that their major study focus is liberal arts-based.
- Students must keep a note of what extracurricular accomplishments they have currently and present them within the application form.
- First-generation students that come from the Eastern parts of the world are very encouraged and may receive first priority in this opportunity.
Requirements
All applicants interested in applying must receive an acceptance letter or approval of submission of application to Amsterdam University College. This is the only way the student will fully be able to receive and be deemed eligible for this award.
Typically tuition fees at the Amsterdam University College consists of for EU students under 8,000 EUR and for non-EU students over 12,000 EUR per academic year. This is the most recent tuition hike for the 2022-2023 school year. So not only does this award cover all tuition but allows the student to pay off excess fees and equipment that is needed.
Accommodation costs to just under 4,400 EUR for every student.
How to Apply
The student can apply online through the application form. This way the student will be able to upload all for the necessary photo scans and information to complete the application.
All applicants must have successfully received their student visa and have passed all visa requirements so they can study at the University College of Amsterdam.
While the student is applying for this specific scholarship, they may not apply for another or have received another scholarship upon being awarded this one.
Reward – Extra Benefits
There are two different type of scholarships associated with this foundation. The first is our main focus, the non-EU citizen students which can receive a total of 16550 EUR per year, for 3 years. Yes, that is 16,550 EUR each independent year which comes to a total of 49,650 EUR for 3 years.
The other fund that is available is for EU specific students. They would receive 5550 EUR per year, for 3 years. This would come to a total of 16,650 EUR for a 3 year total.
Now students have to follow the guidelines and stay within the rule base to ensure they are following the criteria to receive a full 3 year impact from this scholarship opportunity.
To maintain this scholarship, the recipient is expect to keep high regard with their studies. This means that the committee expects only the best results from the student’s who receive this award. And students must present that their family annual income for each of the 3 years have not changed at any point.
If the student decides to end their studies and leave university that will conclude the end or termination of this scholarship completely. The student may also be asked to repay a certain percentage that was not used.
Deadline Time Line
The official deadline date mentioned on the original website link is for April 1, 2023. The 2022 deadline has passed but that means that the scholarship foundation is preparing for the class of 2023 academic students that fit the eligibility to apply.
This is the only deadline mentioned and there is no suggestion that this date has ever been changed or delayed. However, it is important that student check the official website and sign up for the foundation newsletter in case there is any kind of change to the deadline.

Open Submission Window Time Frame
The open time frame submission window begins in January of 2023, and the students who are chosen as the recipients will be able to receive their award by September 2023. This is just in time for the 1st academic semester where the student will progressively take the program they signed up for.
Annual or Renewable Scholarship Option
This is an annual scholarship for both Non-EU students and EU students who are looking to receive a duration scholarship that lasts for 3 years. This scholarship is also considered a “renewable” one based on the 3 year duration process but essentially what happens is the student chosen to receive this award is that there will be an automatic update each year for that duration time line. This means the scholarship can be “rolled over” onto the next few years as the student pursues a single major instead of switching to different majors.
