The Faculty of Environment, which includes the School of Food Science and Nutrition, School of Geography, Institute for Transport Studies, and the School of Earth and Environment, has a number of advertised projects that fall under the remit of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). From December 10, 2021, new projects will be added to the list below. You can only apply for this funding competition if you have a project that has been posted by the EPSRC Environment.

Although there are four scholarships available, an international candidate can only receive one of them.

 

About the Scholarship:

MAs in advertising and marketing, corporate communications, marketing and public relations, and human resource management are also available. Scholarship Offer:

Each fully-funded scholarship covers complete tuition, a stipend at the rate set by the UK Research Councils (£15,840 for 2022/23), and a research training and support grant (around UK Sterling 4,000).

 

Eligibility for Scholarship 

Applicants for research degree programs should generally hold a first or upper second class British Bachelors Honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field. Each advertised project will specify the background or admission requirements that are necessary or sought for that specific research degree project.

If English isn’t your first language, you’ll need to show proof of a language qualification before applying for a postgraduate researcher position.

The following qualifications and scores will be accepted:

– IELTS: overall score of 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.

– TOEFL IBT (Internet-based TOEFL): 87 points, with a minimum of 20 points in hearing and reading, 21 points in writing, and 22 points in speaking.

– an undergraduate degree from a majority English-speaking country, awarded in fewer than 2 years and 4 months from the projected start date of the PhD. The degree must last at least two academic sessions and be conferred within two years and four months of the PhD’s projected commencement date.

– Other English language credentials will also be accepted.

By the time you begin your studies with us, your tests must be no more than two years old.

Please specify that you want to be considered for EPSRC DTP Environment funding. EPSRC DTP Environment is the program code for which you will be applying (PHP-ENVE-FT).

You must submit the following materials in support of your application: a CV; a supporting statement (no more than one A4 page) explaining why you are applying for this project and how your skills relate to the research project’s requirements; transcripts and degree certificates from all Bachelors and Masters degree programs you have completed; and two academic references on a reference form (download the form and email directly to [email protected]).
