“Digital Navigation of Chemical Space for Function,” a 5-year project aimed at creating new methods for the design and discovery of materials using artificial intelligence and machine learning to create functional organic materials, has an opening for a researcher.

PhD students who seek to explore innovative approaches for discovering supramolecular organic compounds utilizing a combination of experimental and robotic platforms are encouraged to apply. Molecular crystals and organic photocatalysts with porous structures have been designed, discovered, and characterised by the researchers at Liverpool. We expect the successful candidate to work in one of those areas.

In addition to organic synthesis, purification and characterisation (e.g., NMR, mass spectrometry and X-ray characterization), the chosen candidate will gain expertise in high-throughput synthesis and characterisation. The successful candidate will join a research team that is creating mobile robots for research laboratories and contribute their chemistry-based skills. As part of the project, there will be an opportunity to work more closely with the robotics team and gain skills in this area.

Additionally, it provides over 230 first-year courses that span 103 distinct subject areas. The university is renowned for its academic offerings in the fields of chemistry, computer science, and mathematics, in addition to engineering and architecture. Students from other countries may be eligible to obtain specialized admission help for the United Kingdom if the university they attend is participating in the program. According to the National Student Survey, Liverpool University has the sixth best student-to-staff ratio among the Russell Group universities. This ranking was achieved by Liverpool. According to the Princeton Review, the school is one of the top 25 universities in the world and is highly sought after by major graduate recruiting agencies.
