As part of its strategic goal to ‘nurture the next generation of researchers to become world-leaders in their discipline,’ the University of Leicester is spending £9 million in 100 PhD Scholarships for entry in fall 2022. The College of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities, which includes nine schools, will award 25 scholarships: Archaeology and Ancient History; Arts (which includes English, History of Art and Film, and Modern Languages); Business; Criminology; Education; History, Politics, and International Relations; Law; Media, Communication, and Sociology; Museum Studies..

Scholarship Offer:

Studentships cover the following expenses for a period of 3.5 years:

  1. UK-style tuition prices
  2. A stipend based on UKRI rates (currently £15,609 per month). Rates for 2022 will be confirmed later.)
  3. Access to a three-year Research Training Support Grant of up to £1,500.

International applicants applying for projects on this page must be able to cover the difference in fees between the UK and the rest of the world for the duration of their studies.

 

Eligibility for Scholarship 

Applicants must have a UK Bachelor’s degree with a 2:1 or above or an abroad equivalent, as well as a Masters degree in a relevant discipline.
