The School of Economics provides dedicated studentships to potential candidates beginning the PhD Economics programme in the Academic Year 2022/23 and pursuing projects in areas of special interest to the School. These studentships will be given to applicants who submit the most promising research ideas based on the project outline provided below and who clearly exhibit academic excellence in the field of Applied Econometrics and Finance. About the Scholarship:
The Institution of East Anglia (UEA) is a campus university located about two miles from Norwich’s medieval city center. Norwich is about 1.5 hours by rail from London, 30 minutes from the gorgeous beaches of the Norfolk coast, and 40 minutes by plane from Amsterdam. Norwich boasts a rich artistic community as well as a recognized music and cultural scene, and has been named one of the most vegan-friendly cities. Furthermore, the city has been named one of the best shopping destinations in the UK, with a diverse choice of businesses ranging from independent boutiques to high-street retailers such as Apple and Hollister. This scholarship covers full tuition fees for both domestic and international students, as well as a tax-free maintenance payment equal to UKRI studentship rates (currently £15,609) and a research training assistance grant (currently £750 per year).
Eligibility for Scholarship.
- All nationalities are welcome.
- A 2:1 in a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in a relevant field of study are required for the applicant.
- In addition, a Master’s degree with a grade point average of 60% or more is required.
- Applicants are not required to submit additional applications to be considered for this studentship.
