From its beautifully beautiful award-winning campus, the University of Reading provides world-class teaching and research across foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate degrees. Reading’s lively and diverse student community is represented by an award-winning Students’ Union, which provides sports societies, events, student media, and entertainment in one of the UK’s best-rated student venues. The main Whiteknights campus and the London Road site are adjacent to Reading’s town center and only 30 minutes by rail from London Paddington. The Whiteknights campus is on 130 hectares of parkland, and it received its eighth consecutive Green Flag Award in 2018. Reading has a global presence, with two abroad campuses, notably the University of Reading Malaysia, and partnerships with organizations in approximately 50 countries. The University is also pleased to host a large international student population and to accept people of all faiths and cultures in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Reading university housing is safe and secure, and rent prices are all-inclusive, which means that utility bills and wifi are included. More than 5,000 rooms are available in university-owned halls of residence, and all are located on or within a 15-minute walk of the main Whiteknights or London Road campuses. Rooms are provided in a number of types and sizes, including studios, rooms in catered halls, self-catered en-suites, and shared bathrooms, as well as a variety of study, domestic, and social amenities. Reading, located on the River Thames between London and Oxford, is a historic town with a population of 163,000 people. The town is located in the south-east of England and is easily accessible from Heathrow and Gatwick airports in London. For international students whose qualifications are not equivalent to A levels and hence do not match the University’s regular undergraduate entry requirements, the University provides an International Foundation Programme. It also provides pre-sessional English classes to help international students prepare for academic studies in England. With two indoor shopping malls – the Oracle and Broad Street Mall – Reading has lots of high street favorites including TK Maxx, Hotel Chocolat, Next, John Lewis, and Marks and Spencer, as well as a plethora of smaller independent businesses waiting to be discovered in its many side streets and arcades Reading is teeming with restaurants, with something to suit every taste and budget. In the evening, the Oracle shopping center’s Riverside area is a busy location, with a broad mix of restaurants and pubs overlooking the lake, as well as a 10-screen cinema. Almost every night of the week, there is a new student event, ranging from clubs, gigs, and rock nights to live global music, salsa dancing, and comedy evenings. Reading’s award-winning Whiteknights campus has a welcoming community feel and abundance of open space. It’s a place where you may meet new individuals from all around the world and form lifelong friendships. We also have a global presence, with Henley Business School (South Africa) in Johannesburg and the University of Reading Malaysia in Iskandar, in addition to our Whiteknights and London Road campuses in Reading and Henley Business School at our Greenlands campus in Henley-upon-Thames.
