That’s why RBC has developed several sets of scholarship programs worth more than $500,000 a year to help students address critical funding needs around the world. Canada?

About RBC Students Leading Change Scholarships

As students across Canada continue to invest in their education, many are also investing in their communities.

In recognition of the growing number of Canadian students who show a passion for leading and inspiring positive change in their community, RBC created the RBC Students Leading Change Scholarship, which awards a total of fifteen (15) RBC Students Leading Change Scholarships worth $ 10,000 each.

Eight (8) scholarships will be awarded to students graduating from high school and seven (7) scholarships to students enrolled in any year of post-secondary study.

Although applicant students are eligible for all 15 scholarships, 3 scholarships per student category (a total of 6) will be reserved exclusively for student clients of RBC Royal Bank.

175 $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to help with post-secondary education costs. RBC provides more than $550,000 in annual scholarships, including the RBC Students Leading Change Scholarships, the RBC Aboriginal Student Awards Program, and the RBC Employee Children’s Scholarship Program.

Scholarship Worth:

The RBC Students Leading Change Scholarships Award is worth $10,000 and is available to 15 lucky applicants.

Eligibility

Students who will be attending a Canadian post-secondary institution in fall 2022 are eligible to apply. Students who fall into one of the 2 categories below are eligible to apply:

  • Category 1 (Graduated High School or CEGEP): Students currently enrolled in their graduating year from a Canadian High School or CEGEP, or who have graduated from a Canadian High School or CEGEP within the last 2 years, and will enroll in their first year of a minimum 2-year full-time bachelors or diploma program at a publicly funded recognized Canadian university or college in the fall 2022 academic term.
  • Category 2 (Undergraduate or Postgraduate or Diploma): Students currently enrolled in a full-time degree or diploma program at a publicly funded, recognized Canadian university or college and plan to continue full-time study in the fall of 2022. Students must There are at least 2 years of full-time study remaining in the program.
  • Students with disabilities who attend or plan to attend a post-secondary school part-time in fall 2022 are eligible.

Level/Field of Study:

To qualify, students must be clients of RBC Royal Bank up to the date of the winner’s announcement. Eight (8) scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school students and seven (7) scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled in any year of post-secondary study.

Host Nationality: 

The scholarship is taken in Canada

Eligible Nationalities: 

All applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents with a minimum GPA of 75 in their last completed year of study.

To help bring students closer to these goals, RBC is pleased to announce the opening of its application process for the RBC Student Leaders Change Scholarship.

Applications are now available online and students are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline. The scholarship recipient is selected for academic excellence, with a strong emphasis on volunteer and civic engagement. For more detailed information on the terms and conditions, please visit rbc.com.

Deadline:

Applications for the RBC Students Leading Change scholarships open in November of each year. The deadline to apply is February 2022.

RBC Royal Bank Scholarship for Aborigines

Eligibility: State and non-state Indians, Inuit, or Métis pursuing post-secondary education

Award: 10 awards worth up to $4,000 each academic year for two to four years

Application opens: December 3 of each year

RBC Black History Month Student Essay Competition

Eligibility: High school students in grade 12 who will attend a Canadian post-secondary institution in fall 2022

Application opens: Please check back annually in December.

Prize: Prizes 30 in total; 1 for $5,000, 1 for $2,500, 1 for $1,500, and 27 for $500

Scholarship program for children of RBC employees (Canada)

Eligibility: Children of eligible RBC employees

Application Opens: Application Deadline May 1, Annually

Prize: Up to 50 prizes of $2,500 each

The RBC Capital Markets Diversity Scholarship

Eligibility: Students who identify as a visible minority, female, Aboriginal or Indigenous background, LGBT+, veterans, and/or persons with disabilities. Full-time undergraduate students graduating in December 2022 or Spring 2022, who are enrolled in a business, engineering, or economics program at a university in Canada.

Application opens: Friday, April 12, 2022 – Friday, May 31, 2022, at 11:59 PM EST

Prize: Up to 4 prizes worth $5,000 each PLUS a summer 2022 analyst position at RBC Capital Markets in Toronto.

The RBC Capital Markets Scholarship for Women

Eligibility: Full-time undergraduate students who graduated in December 2022 or Spring 2022, enrolled in a business, engineering, or economics program at a university in Canada.

Application Opens: Friday, April 12, Annually – Friday, May 31, Annually, at 11:59 PM EST
Prize: Up to 4 prizes of $5,000 each PLUS a Summer 2022 Analyst position at RBC Capital Markets in Toronto.

RBC Award

Eligibility: High school students in grade 12 in Atlantic Canada, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Northern Ontario who will attend a Canadian post-secondary institution in the fall of 2022. Nominations are submitted by the high school administration (e.g. principal, assistant principal, or guidance counselor).

Prize: 175 scholarships for $1,000 will be awarded to help with post-secondary education costs and an opportunity for an RBC boarding school.
