About the Scholarship:

Norwich, England’s Institution of East Anglia (UEA) is a public research university. The university, which comprises four colleges and 26 schools of study, was founded in 1963 on a 320-acre (130-hectare) campus west of the city center. Norwich, a historic and bustling city within close distance of London, has a magnificent parkland campus. The city is extremely safe, and the historical backdrop of castles and churches gives the ideal combination of old and modern architecture. The University of East Anglia’s School of International Development (UEA) is a major global centre of excellence in international development research and teaching. The School is dedicated to creating a positive impact on the world. Their professors provide policy advice on significant global issues such as poverty reduction and environmental sustainability on a regular basis. UEA was ranked 5th for Geography and Environmental Studies in the 2015 Guardian University Guide, with 98 percent of students satisfied with their course and 97 percent satisfied with the education they received. Students graduate with academic knowledge, practical skills training, and frequently a work placement as part of their degree. The School of International Development is placed 4th in the UK for overall research in the Research Excellence Framework (REF2014), with 74% of their research rated “World-leading” or “Internationally exceptional” (Times Higher Education). The university’s academic organization is divided into four faculties, each of which comprises 26 schools of study. Each of these universities offers a diverse range of degree programs in the sciences, medicine and health sciences, social sciences and arts, and humanities. Furthermore, the University of East Anglia’s Student Union contains around 200 organizations and sports clubs that cater to a variety of hobbies such as music, sports, debate, dancing, and so on. The university now has roughly 16,872 students, including 12,888 undergraduates and 3,984 postgraduates. Its administrative team consists of 3,712 people who work hard to ensure that the company’s operations run smoothly. In THE global university Ranking 2019, it is ranked in the top 50 for research citations. Many prominent alumni have achieved great success and distinction in their respective disciplines as a result of their education at the university. Sir Kazuo Ishiguro, a well-known English novelist, short story writer, and screenwriter who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2017, is a UEA graduate. Gurinder Chadha, a popular English film director best known for films such as Bend It Like Beckham and Bride and Prejudice, is another notable alumnus of the university. Neel Mukherjee, Joanna Coles (Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan), Dame Jenny Abramsky (BBC Executive), Tim Lenton (a Climate Scientist), Anil Baijal (Delhi’s current Lieutenant Governor), Adam Shareef (Maldives’ current Defense Minister), Joseph Greenwell (CEO of Jaguar Land Rover), and Sir Paul Nurse are among the other UEA noble laureates (an English geneticist). Throughout their stay at UEA, the Foreign Student Advisory Team provides information, support, and guidance to all international students and their families. A pre-departure handbook includes information about acquiring a visa, getting to Norwich, and getting around campus. During arrival week, the Student Advice Team will host orientation programs, events, and the option to apply for a UK buddy through the UEA Friends scheme in order to assist students in adjusting to university life. Throughout the year, there is a schedule of social activities and tours, and all international students are kept informed of vital news and advice via the International Student email list. To ensure that the interests and requirements of East Anglia’s foreign student community are adequately represented, the Advisory Team maintains close relationships with organizations such as the Home Office and the British Council. New international students who apply before the deadline will be guaranteed housing, with more than 3,000 rooms available. The University of East Anglia provides some of the best value university housing in the UK, with en suite and shared bathrooms, as well as kitchen and eating areas in each room. There are private rental accommodations in Norfolk as well as homestays with English families in the area. UEA is a campus institution located two miles from Norwich’s city center on 300 acres of rolling countryside. The school and its grounds have numerous green spots where students can study, explore, or simply take in the beauty of the parkland, woodlands, and Broad lake. The University of East Anglia is conveniently accessible by road, train, and air. Norwich International Airport serves the area effectively, and it is only a two-hour rail ride from London. The city is a major regional hub that attracts tens of thousands of people each week who come to shop and socialize. The University of East Anglia is located on the city’s south-west outskirts, about 15 minutes from the city center, and is accessible by daily and nightly bus services. Norwich airport has connections to many major UK airports, and it takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the university campus after you arrive.
