$27,500 Victoria University of Wellington 2022 Intracluster Medium of Galaxy Clusters PhD Scholarship
A adequately funded PhD scholarship is open at Victoria University of Wellington to work with Dr Yvette Perrott on research into galaxy cluster intracluster mediums. We don’t know enough about galaxy clusters to utilize them as precise cosmic probes because of our lack of knowledge about the relationship between the gas component and the dark-matter-dominated total mass. For the sake of this observation and simulation-based research, we’ll be looking at various approaches for collecting cluster gas pressure profiles from current and future sensors, and we’ll also be looking at ways to model non-thermal pressure, which is linked to synchrotron radio emission.
