There is a PhD studentship available at the University of Sussex in this field. They give people the chance to study a species of large ground beetle that lives in woodlands in the UK and to do experiments in the field, in enclosures, and even in the lab. The student will do experiments on people from forest cores and edges (edges are habitat boundaries with altered environmental conditions, usually through land-use change). The successful candidate could look into how changes in the environment affect behavior, movement patterns, habitat use, and other pace-of-life traits (metabolism, life history, and morphology), as well as how these traits (and their co-variance) change over time.
