The studentship program is to encourage outstanding students to further their Ph.D. degrees for the academic year of 2022-2023.

The project’s aim is to carry out research with the synergistic study on the prototype, validations, and modeling. The scholarship program is a good opportunity for students who are in Science, Electronics, and Electrical Engineering to develop more knowledge and skills they may be needing for their future career goals.

If you are interested to know about the project, you can read the full details in this article.

Deep Learning-Enhanced Wireless Sensing

Wireless sensing is a new technology that uses wireless devices like sensors to detect differences in the environment and make informed decisions. Anything that works in a wireless environment can cause channel status information (CSI) to change. Based on the differences in CSI measured by wireless receivers, in-depth learning methods can be used to interpret and mitigate changes in the environment and object behavior in it.

This technique can be used on many wireless systems, such as WiFi, mmWave radar, and LoRa. Wireless sensing has many applications, including motion detection, intelligent health care such as fall detection in the elderly, safety monitoring, and monitoring of vital signals.

Although much progress has been made in research in recent years, there are still many challenges. This doctoral project aims to conduct new research with a synergistic study of systems modeling, prototyping, and experimental verification. There are commercial devices that are not on the shelf, such as software-specified radio platforms, WiFi, and mmwave sensors. Deep learning algorithms are used to obtain high classification accuracy.
