Turkey Government Scholarship for Undergraduate will be open for online applications from international students starting on January 10, 2022, to February 20, 2022. Turkey scholarships also are known as Turkiye Burslari Scholarships.

The Turkish scholarship for a bachelor’s degree program is funded by the Turkish ministry of education. This Turkish undergrad scholarship provides a golden opportunity for international students to pursue an education at the best Turkish educational institutions free of cost. The sole purpose of this is to develop friendly relations with foreign countries and to promote peace and companionship.

This Turkiye Burslari scholarship for undergrad is for international students interested to pursue their bachelor’s degrees in Turkey. International students with an extraordinary academic record will also be rewarded as per a separate scholarship policy to make their way easier into the prestigious universities in Turkey.

Türkiye Scholarships is a government-funded higher education scholarship program run by the Republic of Türkiye for international students. The primary purpose of Türkiye Scholarships is to provide equal opportunities to successful students around the world in order for them to receive scholarship education at international standards.

It is also aimed to develop mutual cooperation between Turkey and other countries and to contribute to regional and global development in many fields from academia to art, from economy to literature, technology to architecture.

For many years, Türkiye has been providing scholarship opportunities to international students and researchers from all over the world.Higher education scholarship programs provided by Turkey were branded as “Türkiye Scholarships” in 2012 and studies were started to be carried out under the coordination of Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities.

This Scholarships are carried out in cooperation with all relevant institutions such as YOK, Yurt – Kur, General Directorate of Migration Management and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

Eligibility

    • A research proposal document or example of your written work (only for Ph.D. students)
    • National Identity card (if available in the native individuals country)

Requirements

Statement of purpose also known as SOP or letter of intent is referred to as a document that reflects the intentions of a candidate. The goal of preparing a statement of purpose (SOP) is to make the readers, in this case, the selection committee or faculty, that you have real accomplishments to back you up and that show your potential to do well in the graduate course. Statement of Purpose is also known as a letter of intent in some cases and can be submitted with the scholarship application, resume and cover letter.

Most of the courses in Turkish universities are instructed in Turkish. However, some universities offer courses in other languages as well, like English, etc. Applicants who are willing to study these courses will have to prove their language proficiency by submitting an internationally recognized language proficiency certificate.

Bachelor’s degree applicants must have scored at least 70% to fall into the eligibility criteria for the Turkish scholarship program.

    • Bachelor’s degree applicants must not be older than 21 years. If the applicant is above 21 then, they will not be eligible for the Turkish scholarship program.
    • The candidate must not be a citizen or ex citizen of Turkey.

 

How to Apply

First off international students should know that they are expected to learn  and take courses for the Turkish language. The language program is of 8 months, and students must secure a C1 level Turkish competency from the sufficiency test. Successful students will continue their education, and unsuccessful students will have an additional time of 3 months to retake the exam.

If a student fails to meet the criteria for the second time, then his/her scholarship will get suspended for a year, and he/she will have to bear all the expenses.

The Turkish online application system accepts online applications from all over the world, and eligible students can apply.

 

Reward – Extra Benefits

Students will receive free room and board when they have been chosen as the recipient.

Foreign students, who will study in Turkey through the Turkish scholarship program, are taken under the coverage of ‘general health insurance’ to give them equal, qualified, comprehensive, and inclusive health services, which are supplied by the Turkish government.

Turkish scholarship for a bachelor’s degree is that it provides a range of benefits that enables a student to study with ease, Monthly stipend is one of them. Stipends are offered to the students to help offset expenses. The monthly stipend scheme for the students is as follows.

This monthly stipend for undergrad students is around: 700 TL ( $103 USD)

This program does cover all education trip costs that may come up for an international student. All air-fare to fly from their home to their university is covered.

 

Deadline

The official deadline date is February 20, 2022. All the willing candidates are advised to read the instructions carefully. Students who fall into the eligibility criteria will be entertained only.

Luckily students will be notified very shortly if they have won this scholarship or not.

 

Open Submissions Window Time Frames

The open submission window time frames are from December 2021 – February 2022. For the 2023 school year it will be from December 2022 – February 2023.

 

Annual

This is an annual scholarship that happens once a year and only one student is chosen as the recipient per year.
