Each year the University of Oxford offers more than 1,000 higher education programs, including virtual classes, short courses, undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing professional development courses.

The University of Oxford has more than 100 areas between departments and faculties, supervised by 4 academic divisions: Medical Sciences, Mathematics, Physical and Life Sciences, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

Education Costs

Tuition fees at the University of Oxford range from £9,250 to £44,935. The average fee for international students is £32,800 ($39,600 USD) and for domestic students it is £9,250 ($11,100 USD) per year.

If you are a citizen outside the European Union, you classify as an ‘overseas’ student and may not be eligible for a UK government tuition loan. The costs for foreign students are significantly higher and will vary according to the study program.

Cost of living

Living costs will vary depending on your lifestyle. Estimates are between £1,135 and £1,650 per month or £14,850 ($17,900 USD) per academic year . You should keep in mind that an academic year is equivalent to 3 terms of eight weeks each, but you will most likely have to be at Oxford longer. It is advisable to have enough budget for nine months and cover essential expenses.

Guide for Foreign Students

Immigration Status (VISA)

Applicants to full-time programs must apply for a student visa from the country of origin, it does not apply to students from Ireland or the European Union. If you are from Latin America you will have to apply for your visa before entering the United Kingdom since as a tourist you cannot change your immigration status.

Equally, for short Oxford courses (maximum six months) or short periods of study as a visiting student, you may need to apply for a tourist visa.
