Eligibility for Scholarship

  • Students from any university who have excelled in their studies (belonging to the top 10% of their bachelor’s program) and have completed or anticipate to complete their bachelor’s degree within the next six months are eligible to apply for a University of Geneva Excellence Fellowship.
  • The applicants will be chosen on the basis of their abilities.
  • The documentation submitted by the applicants will be used to evaluate them.
  • For the Masters of the Faculty of Science, French proficiency is not a formal prerequisite.

University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowships: Interview Dates, Process, and Location

One-year Excellence Masters Fellowship at the University of Geneva. If the applicant is academically successful at the end of his or her first semester of studies, the scholarship can be extended for the full duration of the chosen Master’s program (three or four semesters).

 

Documents Needed

The following documents must be included in a SINGLE pdf file with the application (in English or French):

  • A copy of your national identification card or passport, scanned.
  • A scan of your UNIGE card is required, or if you are not yet a UNIGE student, a copy of the central administration’s mail labeled “Votre candidacy à l’UNIGE” (evidence you have begun the matriculation process).
  • A curriculum vitae is a type of resume (2 pages maximum).
  • A copy of your national identification card or passport, scanned.
  • The transcript of all exams taken during the bachelor’s degree program, including all grades.
  • A motivation letter describing your unique scientific interests and motivation to pursue a Master’s degree at the University of Geneva.
  • If feasible, letters of recommendation from two instructors attesting to your suitability for this program (ideally sent directly from them to [email protected]).
  • Any additional relevant information, such as GRE (General Requirement Exam), TOEFL, or other language test results.
