Students who are interested in enrolling in an undergraduate degree at Singapore Management University (SMU) and meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to submit an application for the Dato’ Kho Hui Meng 2023 Scholarship. Students who are entering their first year as full-time undergraduates at Singapore Management University and are studying any degree program are eligible to apply for the Dato’ Kho Hui Meng Scholarship. The goal is to cultivate in undergraduates the kind of creative and reflective global citizens who will become future leaders committed to making a meaningful contribution in both society and the business world.

Dato’ Kho Hui Meng, President & CEO of Vitol Asia Pte Ltd in 2019 and a director of Vitol Group’s Board, is the person responsible for establishing the Dato’ Kho Hui Meng Scholarship. He serves on the Board of Trustees at Singapore Management University (SMU), where he is a member of the institution. Born in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia in 1958, Dato’ Kho earned a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in England in 1980. Dato’ Kho is a member of the Malaysian Royal Family. In 1987, he started working for Vitol in Singapore as a trade manager, and he worked his way up through the company to his current position as Head of Vitol Group’s Asian and Oceania business, which he has held since 1999. In addition to that, he serves on the board of directors for Viva Energy Group Limited, which was formerly known as Shell Australia. Dato’ Kho is a champion and advocate for SMU, and he encourages students to “Love life, do good, and be the best.” In 2004, His Royal Highness Sultan of Pahang, Malaysia, bestowed the title “Dato'” upon Dato’ Kho.

 

About the Scholarship Provider:

Singapore Management University (SMU) is a private university that was established in 2000. In 1997, the government of Singapore entrusted a local businessman by the name of Ho Kwon Ping with helping to build and develop the institution. In 1999, the Wharton Research Centre and the university came to an agreement that formalized their partnership. As a result, SMU opened not one, but four schools, three centers, and a library within the agreement’s first year. The university is well-known for its dedication to the conventional methods of American higher education.

Singapore Management University is home to numerous academic departments and schools, including a School of Information system, School of Economics, School of Accountancy, School of Law, School of Business, and School of Social Sciences. SeNSS is one of only 14 Doctoral Training Partnerships in the United Kingdom that is sponsored by the ESRC, and they will be offering a handful of fully-funded ESRC doctoral studentships beginning in September 2023. Scholarship Offer:

  • A total value of up to $87,400 may be awarded (towards subsidized tuition fees, study-related expenditures, and provisions for University-approved abroad student programs).
  • Scholarship is renewable for a total of up to four years of the recipient’s academic studies, provided that the eligibility requirements as well as the terms and conditions of the award are continuously met.

 

The Gustafsson & Skrondal Visiting Scholarship is administered by the University of Oslo’s Centre for Educational Measurement (CEMO). As part of the visiting scholar program, CEMO and the University of Oslo host a number of young researchers from Norway and elsewhere each year.

 

Eligibility for Scholarship.

  • Students who are entering their first year as full-time undergraduates and are enrolled in any degree program

If a student enrolls in one of the degree programs offered by SOAS University of London, they may be eligible to receive a fee waiver award in the amount of £5,000. This award is available to students who are interested in receiving a degree from SOAS University of London.
