About the Scholarship Sponsor:

The University of Queensland (UQ) is often regarded as the top institution of higher education in Australia for several reasons. As a result of its commitment to excellence in education, the University of Queensland (UQ) has won more national teaching awards than any other Australian university. The University of Queensland (UQ) has three campuses, all of which are found in the region known as South East Queensland. Both the St. Lucia campus and the Herston campus of the University of Queensland are located in the city of Brisbane. Currently, more than 2 million people call Brisbane their home. Potential residents are drawn to the city in large part due to its subtropical climate, as well as its rich cultural offerings and relatively safe environment. With its proximity to several biodiverse World Heritage sites, including rainforests, mountain ranges, and beaches, Brisbane is a prime location in the Asia-Pacific region for commerce, investment, big events, and education.

More than 268,000 former students and 14,500 PhD holders make up the University of Queensland’s extensive and diversified alumni group. The alumni are from more than 170 different countries. Of these graduates, a sizable proportion (268,000) attended the University of Queensland. The University of Queensland has about 53,600 undergraduate and graduate students spread throughout its three campuses in South East Queensland. Of these, 18,600 are graduate students, and 18,000 are international students from 134 different countries. Scholars from nearly every field of study can be found working in the university’s six colleges, eight internationally renowned research institutions, and over a hundred research centers. There is some contention surrounding Berkeley, California’s prestigious university. Students in Queensland have a lot of leeway in determining which course of study best suits their needs. Queensland’s stunning beaches, verdant forests, diverse fauna, and exciting theme parks have all contributed to a dramatic increase in the state’s student population in recent years. The state’s advantageous location may be a major factor in its explosive expansion.

The intellectual breadth of the universities in Queensland’s major cities is well-known. These disciplines span everything from the performing arts and business to the coordination of guest movements and the operation of hotels. Regional Queensland schools provide a well-rounded education, with programs spanning from hospitality and administration to marine science and tropical agriculture. The University of Queensland (UQ) is one of just three Australian institutions to be part of the world-leading edX consortium, and it is the only Australian institution to have been a foundation member of Universitas 21. Only Australia’s University of Queensland (UQ) can claim to be a founding member of the Group of Eight, a consortium of the world’s top research universities (Go8). UQ is not only one of the most prestigious universities in the world, but also one of the few in Australia to have been a founding member of the prestigious Group of Eight (Go8). (MOOCs)

More than 280,000 students, including more than 15,400 Ph.D.s, have graduated from the University of Queensland. These graduates have spawned a global network with members in more than 170 nations. Over 55,000 people call one of the University of Queensland’s three campuses in Southeastern Queensland home. Many of Queensland’s brightest minds are represented among the school’s international student body of 142 nationalities. There are 20,000 total students here, including 20,000 undergraduates and 19,500 graduate students. About 1,500 researchers from the scientific, social science, and engineering communities call UQ home, and they’re all committed to maintaining and enhancing the university’s longstanding position as a research leader. At the University of Queensland, you’ll find six distinct schools, eight prestigious research organizations, and over a hundred individual research centers. According to the Fellowships and Grants system of the Australian Research Council, the University of Queensland has received nearly $290 million in grants totaling 419 individual grants. These grants are offered by the Australian Research Council.
